Alcaria Chavez

Alcaria “Carrie” Cardenas Chavez, 74, of San Angelo, Texas went to join our Lord on Thursday, April 18th ,2024. She was born on March 15th, 1950, in Bryan, Texas, to Francisco and Nieves Cardenas.

Alcaria was a deeply loved and respected mother and an adored grandmother. Alcaria enjoyed spending her time, dancing and hanging out with her grandkids and family. She was the life of the party, as most say, and the most caring person anyone could have ever met.

She is survived by her children, Patrick J. Cardenas, Cinamon Cardenas, Donald Hunt Jr, Rhea Valdez, Grandson Michael Cardenas, along with 11 other grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; Sisters, Leonor Hinojosa and husband Narcisco, Felicita Granado, Dominga Martinez, Maria Villarreal and husband Roberto; Brother, Francisco “Frank” Cardenas and wife Janet.

Alcaria is preceded in death by her Husband, Juan Chavez; parents, Fransico and Nieves Cardenas; sisters, Julia Franco and Cruz Madrigal; brothers, Eusebio Cardenas and Jesse Cardenas; and grandson Martin Pena Jr. 

Viewing will be held at Gutierrez Funeral Home, 1002 North Oakes Street, San Angelo, Texas, on Monday, April 22,2024 , with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, April 23,2024, at 10:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 7 W Ave N, San Angelo, TX 76903. Interment will follow at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include Michael Cardenas, Jesse Hunt, Fransisco Valdez, Jose Valdez, Andrew Peña, and Abraham Macias.

Services have been entrusted to Gutierrez Funeral Chapels and staff.
